| Biochar Puzzle - 2022 Biochar puzzle consists of 21 pieces made from eight different types of waste wood in a wooden box. It is a collectible in a limited edition of 7 and 2 artist’s proofs signed and numbered by the artist on an included certificate. The types of waste wood used are: olive, pine, chestnut, ash, beech, spruce, iroko,niagon. The puzzle can be charcoaled to be used as biochar. Biochar : charcoal produced from plant matter by low oxygen burning, and used to enhance soil productivity while sequestering carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. It is the basis of Terra preta soils which were created by farming communities in the Amazon between 450 BCE and 950 CE. Rediscovered in recent years it can lower atmospheric carbon dioxide and revitalize exhausted soils. |
